The invention relates to a speed reducer, a hydraulic motor, a construction machine and a manufacturing method of the speed reducer. The speed reducer is provided with a sun gear, planetary gears, a carrier, a ring gear, and a thrust plate. Driving force is input to the sun gear. The planetary gear is meshed with the sun gear, and the gear ring is meshed with the planetary gear. The carrier has a supporting shaft that rotatably supports the planetary gear, and a positioning portion is formed on an end surface of a tip end portion of the support shaft. The thrust plate has a portion to be positioned that fits into the positioning portion, and receives a thrust load of the planetary gear by means of an opposing surface that opposes an end surface of the planetary gear in the axial direction. The positioning part is formed by a concave part which is opened at the thrust plate side. The portion to be positioned of the thrust plate is configured from a protruding portion protruding toward the support shaft side and having a cross-section formed so as to correspond to the shape of the recessed portion.
