The invention relates to the technical field of water conservancy, in particular to a flood drainage pump station and a construction method thereof. The flood drainage pump station comprises a glass fiber reinforced plastic shell, a communicating pipeline and an axial flow pump fixed to the bottom of the glass fiber reinforced plastic shell. One end of the communicating pipeline communicates with the axial flow pump, and the other end of the communicating pipeline communicates with a ground drainage pipe. The axial flow pump comprises a water inlet pipe body, a filtering assembly and a conveying assembly which communicate with one another in sequence. An impeller is arranged in the filtering assembly, silt in rainwater is adsorbed to a filtering chamber under the action of the impeller, the silt is scraped off to a silt collecting plate through blades, then enters a silt collecting chamber through holes in the silt collecting plate and is finally drained into deeper soil along a silt discharging pipe connected with the silt collecting chamber. According to the flood drainage pump station and the construction method thereof, the silt in the rainwater is filtered and collected, energy consumption of the axial flow pump is reduced, and thus the working efficiency of the whole flood drainage pump station is improved.
