The support comprises a protruding ridge formed by butt joint of metal plates of a metal roof, supporting frames are arranged along the protruding ridge in a connected mode at intervals, each supporting frame comprises a vertically-arranged vertical rod, and the lower end of each vertical rod is connected with a protruding ridge clamp; the protruding ridge clamp is fixedly connected with the protruding ridge, the upper end of the vertical rod is connected with the lightning strip clamp. The laying method comprises the steps of horizontal adjustment of the support and laying and installation of the lightning strip. The lightning strip is fixed on the lightning strip clamp in a mode that multiple sections of galvanized round steel are connected, the lightning strip is erected on the metal protruding ridge through the supporting frames which are fixed at intervals, lossless installation is guaranteed, trepanning of a metal roof is avoided, the waterproofness of a waterproof layer is guaranteed, the lightning strip clamp is simple in structure, and rapid installation and disassembly can be achieved; roof edge locking is firmer, maintenance cost and potential safety hazards are reduced, and manpower, material resources and material cost are saved.
