The invention belongs to the technical field of solid waste resource utilization and artificial stone preparation, and discloses a multi-layer composite artificial stone plate with smelting slag as a raw material and a preparation method thereof. The multi-layer composite artificial stone plate comprises a surface layer, a middle layer and a bottom layer, wherein the surface layer is prepared from smelting slag particles, quartz powder, inorganic pigment and an organic resin adhesive; the material of the middle layer comprises constructional engineering fibers; and the bottom layer material comprises smelting slag particles, a fine-particle-size particle filler and cement. According to the multi-layer composite artificial stone plate, the surface layer and the bottom layer are connected through the middle layer made of the fibers, and the mechanical strength of the artificial stone plate can be remarkably enhanced. Meanwhile, the surface layer is prepared from the smelting slag particles, the quartz powder and the organic resin adhesive and has good appearance and texture; and the bottom layer is prepared from the smelting slag particles, the fine-particle-size particle filler and cement, good mechanical strength is provided, and the cost is reduced. The multi-layer composite artificial stone plate has a good commercial value and environmental protection value.
