The invention discloses a rotary type float blocking device and a float blocking method, the rotary type float blocking device comprises a sliding rail, a floating sliding mechanism, a locking device and a float blocking mechanism, a pulley assembly of the floating sliding mechanism is matched with the sliding rail, the locking device and the float blocking mechanism are hinged to the pulley assembly, and the locking device is located on the upper portion of the floating sliding mechanism; a sliding floating cylinder and a floating blocking cylinder are arranged in the floating sliding mechanism and the floating blocking mechanism respectively, and a full-opening electromagnetic lock and a full-closing electromagnetic lock on the locking device correspond to a full-opening iron block and a full-closing iron block on the floating blocking mechanism respectively and are installed on the wall on one side of a navigation groove through a sliding rail. When the floating and sliding mechanism and the float blocking mechanism float upwards along with the water level, the pulley assembly slides along the sliding rail, the float blocking row rotates towards the other side of the navigation groove to seal the navigation groove and block floating, after the float blocking row is reset, the navigation groove is fully opened and navigated, adaptability is good, arrangement can be achieved in the navigation period and the non-navigation period, and navigation efficiency is not affected.
