The invention relates to a method for producing building gypsum powder from ardealite, which comprises the following steps: carrying out cyclone separation on ardealite slurry by a cyclone to obtain an overflow product and an underflow product; and filtering the overflow product to obtain a filter cake, and drying and calcining to obtain the building gypsum powder. By controlling reasonable particle size grading, the building gypsum prepared from the ardealite with lower quality also has higher strength, and the recycling rate of ardealite can be increased. The method is simple in process operation and low in calcination temperature, and does not generate waste gas and waste water in the production process.
