The invention discloses an obstacle device for pedestrians to cross a road. The device comprises a mounting plate buried in a road, a cavity is formed in the mounting plate, two baffles are symmetrically and slidably connected to the top in the cavity, a motor is fixedly connected to the top in the cavity, the movable end of the motor is fixedly connected with a lead screw, the side wall of the lead screw is in threaded connection with a sliding block. Two first rotating rods are rotatably connected to the side wall of the sliding block, two sliding plates are symmetrically and slidably connected to the bottom in the cavity, the two first rotating rods are rotatably connected with the side walls of the two sliding plates correspondingly, and strip-shaped cavities are formed in the inner walls of the two baffles. When a pedestrian road is red, a motor rotates to drive a lead screw to rotate, a sliding block slides downwards, then the sliding block drives a sliding plate to slide in the direction close to the inner wall of a cavity through a first rotating rod, the sliding plate drives a baffle to slide through a second rotating rod, the pedestrian road is blocked, and therefore pedestrians are prevented from walking on the pedestrian road; therefore, pedestrians are prevented from running in the red light.
