The invention discloses a water-saving device which comprises a main pipeline connected with a water outlet of a wash basin and a wastewater concentration detection device used for detecting the concentration of wastewater in the main pipeline, the main pipeline is connected with a sewer through a first branch pipeline, and the main pipeline is connected with a closestool water tank through a second branch pipeline, a water outlet of the hand basin is as high as the highest water level of the closestool water tank, a water inlet of the first branch pipeline is higher than a water inlet of the second branch pipeline, an on-off control valve is arranged on the second branch pipeline, and the opposite side walls of at least part of pipe sections of the main pipeline are transparent side walls, the wastewater concentration detection device comprises a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit which are arranged on the two sides of the main pipeline, and the light receiving unit is arranged to be capable of receiving light which is emitted by the light emitting unit and penetrates through the transparent side wall. The water-saving device disclosed by the invention can detect the concentration of wastewater, classify the wastewater for use, and prevent the phenomena of scaling of a closestool water tank, pipeline blockage and the like.
