The invention relates to a method for detecting and verifying a working position (21a, 21b) of a mobile concrete pump (10), said method comprising the steps: a) setting up and at least partially supporting the concrete pump (10) at a set-up position (14); b) detecting position-related data of a working position (21a, 21b), wherein the working position (21a, 21b) is located in a region of a surface (20) to be concreted which is remote from the set-up position (14); c) comparing the position-related data with a theoretical working area (15) resulting from the set support; and d) outputting a signal as to whether the working position (21a, 21b) can be operated. This makes it possible to set up or support a mobile concrete pump (10) in the most optimal manner possible. The invention also relates to a method for determining a suitable support setting, a measurement device (10a), and a mobile concrete pump (10).
