The invention discloses a one-source two-pump stable water supply system and method applied to a pasturing area. The system comprises an energy supply unit, a control center, a shallow well, a reservoir, a first-stage water pumping device and a second-stage water pumping device. The energy supply unit is used for providing power electric energy; the shallow well is a well facility for exploiting shallow groundwater; the reservoir is used for supplying water to users, and the lowest water level of the reservoir is higher than the highest water level of the shallow well; the control center is used for controlling the first-stage water pumping device to pump water from the shallow water well to the reservoir and controlling the second-stage water pumping device to pump water from the reservoir to a user. The method comprises the steps that the electric energy provided by the energy supply unit is used for controlling the primary water pumping device to pump water from the shallow water well to the reservoir, and controlling the secondary water pumping device to pump water from the reservoir to a user. The contradiction between small underground water inflow and large instantaneous water demand of pasturing area water supply is solved, the production efficiency of animal husbandry is improved, and the labor capacity of the pasturing area is reduced.
