The invention relates to a spindle drive for a closure element (2) of a motor vehicle, said spindle drive comprising a drive unit (3) and a spindle-spindle nut drive (6) which is drivingly connected downstream of the drive unit (3) and which has a spindle (7) and a spindle nut (8) for generating a drive movement, the spindle drive (1) has two drive sections (9, 10) having a drive joint (11, 12) for outputting a drive movement, the drive joints (11, 12) being adjustable relative to each other by means of the drive unit (3) between an in-position and an out-position along a geometric drive longitudinal axis (13) over an adjustment path (s), and the drive joints (11, 12) being movable relative to each other by means of the drive unit (3) along the geometric drive longitudinal axis (13). The spindle (7) is associated with one of the drive sections (10) and is axially fixed relative to the drive connection (12) of this drive section (10), and wherein the spindle nut (8) is associated with the other drive section (9) and is axially fixed relative to the drive connection (11) of this drive section (9). According to the invention, the spindle drive (1) has a support sleeve (16), which radially surrounds the spindle nut (8) in the extended state and which is supported in such a way that the support sleeve moves axially relative to the two drive connections (11, 12) during a drive movement from the extended state to the extended state.
