The invention discloses coal gangue-based ceramsite for phosphorus adsorption, a preparation method of the coal gangue-based ceramsite and water treatment equipment. The preparation method comprises the following steps: crushing a coal gangue raw material into coal gangue powder; mixing the coal gangue powder, glucose, calcium oxide, sodium silicate and water in proportion to obtain a mixture; shaping the mixture to prepare particles; the particles are subjected to calcination treatment, and the coal gangue-based ceramsite is obtained. The coal gangue-based ceramsite disclosed by the invention takes coal mine waste as a basic material, so that resource utilization of the waste is improved, runoff pollutants can be adsorbed, and water quality can be purified; due to the fact that the surface of the coal gangue-based ceramsite is rough and porous, pores are large, the surface contains rich active groups, the coal gangue-based ceramsite has extremely high adsorption capacity and low cost, and the coal gangue-based ceramsite can be used as an adsorbent for water treatment.
