The glove box unit includes a glove box door, a storage compartment, and a hinge mechanism connecting the glove box door to the storage compartment. The hinge mechanism comprises an arc-shaped rack connected to the storage compartment; one end of the glovebox door arm is connected to the glovebox door, the other end of the glovebox door arm is provided with an arc-shaped pinion, and the pinion is provided with gear teeth on the inner periphery and the outer periphery of the pinion; a bracket arm pivotally connected to the storage compartment at a primary hinge point and pivotally connected to the arcuate pinion along the length of the bracket arm at a secondary hinge point; and a damping gear rotatably connected to the bracket arm and engaged with the internal teeth of the pinion gear. When the glove box door rotates around the shaft of the auxiliary hinge point in the clockwise direction to be opened, the outer teeth of the small gear are meshed with the rack, and the small gear rotates around the shaft of the auxiliary hinge point in the clockwise direction. The damping gear rotates in the clockwise direction around the axis of the damping gear, the bracket arm bearing the small gear and the damping gear rotates in the anti-clockwise direction around the axis of the main hinge point, and the glove box door moves in the height direction when the glove box door rotates to be opened.
