A driving mechanism of an electric side opening door comprises a shell, a lead screw, a nut table, a power assembly and a transmission assembly rotationally connected into the shell, the transmission assembly and the nut table are both annular, a transfer part and a limiting part are arranged on the outer ring side of the nut table, and the transfer part is rotationally connected to the inner ring side of the transmission assembly with the radial direction of the transmission assembly as a rotating shaft; a bearing part is arranged on the inner ring side of the transmission assembly and movably connected with the limiting part to limit the rotation angle of the nut table relative to the transmission assembly. The lead screw is screwed to the inner ring side of the nut table. The power assembly is used for driving the transmission assembly to rotate so as to drive the lead screw to stretch relative to the shell. According to the scheme, the shell is connected with the vehicle door, the end of the lead screw is connected with the vehicle body, and automatic opening and closing of the vehicle door relative to the vehicle body can be achieved; meanwhile, due to the fact that the nut table and the transmission assembly are arranged in a swinging mode, the angle of the lead screw relative to the shell can be self-adaptively adjusted along with the angle of the vehicle door, operation is stable and reliable, the structure is compact, and practicability is good.
