The invention discloses an automatic opening and closing rotary vehicle door anti-collision detection system and method, the system comprises an automatic vehicle door controller, a signal processing unit, a camera sensor and a radar sensor, the camera sensor is configured for a lateral obstacle detection system of an intelligent driving system, and the radar sensor is arranged on each rotary door; the output of the camera sensor and the output of the radar sensor are connected with the signal processing unit, the signal processing unit carries out fusion calculation on collected video clip signals and radar signals, the position and the size of an obstacle in a vehicle door movement envelope area are recognized, and the maximum opening angle of the vehicle door is judged. The vehicle door opening angle information is transmitted to the automatic vehicle door controller in a signal mode, and the automatic vehicle door controller is connected with the driving mechanism so as to drive the rotating vehicle door to be opened or closed within the maximum angle range through the driving mechanism. The rotary vehicle door can be automatically opened and closed more safely and reliably.
