The invention provides a method for preparing electro-fused mullite from bauxite under coal, which comprises the following steps: grading the bauxite under coal, and removing silt; obtaining + d-grade minerals, and carrying out iron removal and desulfurization on the + d-grade minerals by adopting an X-ray concentrating machine to obtain intermediate minerals; calcining the intermediate mineral to obtain bauxite clinker; the preparation method comprises the following steps: crushing bauxite clinker, adding auxiliary materials, and uniformly mixing to obtain a mixture; melting the mixture in an electric arc furnace at a high temperature, cooling and crystallizing, and then crushing, grading and deironing to obtain a mullite product. According to the method, the under-coal bauxite is adopted as the main raw material to produce the fused mullite, the content of mullite phases in the mullite product is 95% or above, the comprehensive utilization rate of under-coal aluminum resources and the added value of the product are increased, the channel of the mullite raw material is widened, and sustainable high-quality development of the refractory material industry is powerfully supported.
