The scour pit detection device using the sonar comprises a base, an adjusting mechanism and a sonar detection assembly, a supporting column is arranged at the upper end of the base, sound wave receivers are evenly arranged on the outer side of the supporting column, the sonar detection assembly comprises a second driving motor and a single-beam sonar depth finder, and the second driving motor and the single-beam sonar depth finder are arranged in a second protective cover. A driven chain wheel is arranged on the outer side of the movable shaft, and the driving chain wheel is connected with the driven chain wheel through a chain. The beneficial effects of the invention are that sound waves are transmitted through a water body to reach the base surface and then are reflected, and the scour depth at a monitoring position is calculated according to the transmission speed and echo time of the sound waves. The single-beam sonar depth finder method has the advantages of being low in equipment cost, high in precision, good in operability, convenient to dynamically monitor the punching pit change process and the like, meanwhile, the angles of the X axis and the Y axis of the single-beam sonar depth finder can be adjusted through the adjusting mechanism, and all-directional detection can be achieved.
