Polycrystalline cubic boron nitride and tool
The polycrystalline cubic boron nitride includes a cubic boron nitride particle group. The ratio of the second length to the first length is 0.99 or less. Wherein the first length and the second length are values measured on the surface of the polycrystalline cubic boron nitride on which the depression is formed by a Knoop hardness test according to conditions specified by ISO 4545-1 and ISO 4545-4, respectively. The second length represents a length of a longer diagonal of the recess. The first length represents the sum of the second length and the length of the stripe-shaped indentation. The length of the stripe-shaped indentations is measured by observing the surface of the polycrystalline cubic boron nitride at a magnification of 5000-10000 times (inclusive) using a field emission scanning electron microscope. The second length is measured by observing the surface of the polycrystalline cubic boron nitride with an optical microscope at a magnification of 500-1000 times (inclusive).
多晶立方晶氮化硼包含立方晶氮化硼颗粒组。第二长度与第一长度之比为0.99以下。其中,第一长度以及第二长度分别是通过ISO4545‑1以及ISO4545‑4所规定的条件的努氏硬度试验,在形成有凹陷的多晶立方晶氮化硼的表面测定的值。第二长度表示凹陷的较长的对角线的长度。第一长度表示第二长度与条纹状压痕的长度的合计。条纹状压痕的长度通过利用场发射型扫描型电子显微镜以5000倍以上且10000倍以下的倍率对多晶立方晶氮化硼的表面进行观察来测定。第二长度通过利用光学显微镜以500倍以上且1000倍以下的倍率对多晶立方晶氮化硼的表面进行观察来测定。
