The connecting piece comprises a shell, a connecting rod and a driving assembly; a mounting hole is formed in the side surface of the shell; the left end of the connecting rod is rotatably arranged in the shell in a left-right sliding mode, the right end of the connecting rod extends out of the shell through the opening, and an external thread or an internal thread hole is formed in the right end of the connecting rod. The driving assembly is arranged in the mounting hole and used for driving the connecting rod to rotate. The fence mesh plate comprises a mesh surface and a protective edge arranged on the periphery of the mesh surface; a connecting piece is arranged in the end of at least one safe edge, a first receding hole is formed in the position, corresponding to the driving assembly, of the side face of the safe edge, and a threaded hole used for being connected with the external threads or a stud used for being connected with the internal threaded hole is arranged on the side face of the safe edge adjacent to the end of the safe edge. The two adjacent safe edges are connected through the connecting piece, operation is easy, installation is convenient, installation efficiency is high, workload is low, safety is high, and attractiveness is not affected.
