The invention relates to an underwater sinking pipe construction method. The method comprises the following steps: 1) construction preparation and survey setting-out; (2) excavating a foundation trench and pumping sand; 3) steel pipe assembly welding, pressure testing and corrosion prevention; 4) hoisting the river-crossing pipe to enter water; (5) pipe transverse and pipe sinking; 6) closing water and testing pressure of the pipeline; (7) pipe pressing and gravel backfilling; and 8) riverbed leveling and completion acceptance. The construction method has the advantages that the steps are clear, implementation is convenient, underwater pipe sinking method construction is convenient and fast, the requirement for the required construction site area is not high, a pipe sinking construction pipeline is a prefabricated pipeline, the structural quality is good, the construction efficiency is high, construction is safer under the condition of considerable water depth, no special requirement for a construction section exists, and the construction method is particularly suitable for construction of a wide river channel.
