A sanitary device in the form of a toilet, comprising: a body (2) having an upwardly open toilet area (3); a water tank (10) which is arranged in the region of the upper edge (18) of the toilet region (3) and which projects into the toilet region (3) when viewed horizontally, at least one flushing opening (12) facing downwards towards the toilet region (3) being provided on the side of the water tank and at least one connection part (13, 36) being provided in the rear region of the main body (2) for connecting preferably by means of a pressure-generating device, in particular a pump (28), for supplying flushing water into the water tank (10), from which the flushing water flows into the toilet region (3) from the water tank (10) through at least one flushing opening (12) on the side of the water tank. Wherein the tank (10) extends only in the rear edge region and, in addition to the first flushing opening (12), at least one second flushing opening (15) is provided, which faces the front, allows tangential flushing of water into the toilet region (3) and can supply flushing water.
