The invention relates to a special-shaped steel structure rod piece assembling and positioning auxiliary device which comprises a supporting rod clamp, a main rod clamp, a cardan shaft set and a connector, the supporting rod clamp is connected with one end of the cardan shaft set, the cardan shaft set comprises a cardan shaft and a connecting rod which are sequentially connected, the other end of the cardan shaft set is connected with the connector, and the main rod clamp is connected with the cardan shaft. The main rod clamp is arranged in the center of the connector, and fasteners are evenly arranged on the periphery of the main rod clamp and the periphery of the supporting rod clamp. The using method comprises the steps that the main rod piece is positioned and welded; positioning and installing an auxiliary device; positioning and mounting the supporting rod pieces; rod piece welding; and disassembling the auxiliary device. Through the arrangement of the supporting rod clamp, the main rod clamp, the universal shaft set and the connector, the multiple rod pieces are positioned at the same time, accurate positioning is conducted before welding, construction displacement is avoided in the welding process, welding process monitoring is implemented, the splicing accuracy of the rod pieces is guaranteed, and the construction difficulty is reduced to a great extent.
