The invention discloses a steel mold building and manufacturing method for large concrete curved surface modeling. The steel mold building and manufacturing method comprises the steps that supporting frames are distributed around a center jig frame in the radial direction; the enclosing purlins are radially distributed on the supporting frame and the central jig frame to form an enclosing purlin supporting surface; the prefabricated annular rib plates are fixedly installed on the supporting faces of the enclosing purlins; a plurality of radial rib plates with prefabricated radians are radially and symmetrically mounted between the annular rib plates by taking the central axis of the annular rib plates as a reference to form a curved surface matching surface; the arc-shaped plate fragments with the prefabricated curved surface radian are sequentially installed at the corresponding positions on the curved surface matching face till installation of the whole curved plate is completed; and the whole outer ring plate is formed, and the curved plate and the outer ring plate are welded to complete construction of the steel mold. According to the curved surface forming method, the curved surface is spliced in a fragment mode, the finally formed curved surface can meet the requirements of various complex curved surfaces through the radian design of each arc-shaped plate fragment, and the forming precision of the final curved surface is ensured through a curved surface matching surface formed through an innovative structure.
