The cofferdam construction method comprises the following steps that S1, a steel sheet pile mounting area is reserved before construction, and obstacles are removed; s2, positioning piles and corner piles are inserted and driven; s3, two sets of steel sheet pile assemblies are prepared, each set of steel sheet pile assembly is formed by splicing a plurality of vertically-arranged steel sheet piles, the two sets of steel sheet pile assemblies are arranged in parallel, and a filling area is formed between the inner side faces of the two sets of steel sheet pile assemblies; s4, a plurality of pull rods and a plurality of fixing pieces are prepared, the pull rods are horizontally arranged on the upper portions of the steel sheet pile assemblies and are perpendicular to the steel sheet pile assemblies, the two ends of each pull rod extend out of the outer side faces of the two steel sheet pile assemblies correspondingly, the pull rods are arranged in the extending direction of the steel sheet pile assemblies, and the fixing pieces are configured to limit the distance between the upper portions of the two steel sheet pile assemblies; and S5, filling materials are placed in the filling area. The cofferdam construction method can be suitable for a narrow construction space, and the structural stability and reliability of the cofferdam can be guaranteed.
