The invention relates to the technical field of ecological environment treatment, and provides an ecological slope protection material as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The ecological slope protection material provided by the invention is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by mass: 27-48% of activated fly ash; 30-40% of modified coal gangue; 6.8-10% of desulfurized gypsum; 15 to 22% of cement; 0.1 to 0.5 percent of a water reducing agent; and 0.1%-0.5% of an accelerator. The ecological slope protection material provided by the invention is high in strength and good in durability, can save more than 70% of cement, and is a green and environment-friendly building material. The test result of the embodiment shows that the compressive strength of the ecological slope protection material provided by the invention reaches up to 49.3-52.4 MPa, and the mass loss rate lt after the ecological slope protection material is frozen and thawed for 100 times; 5%.
