The AlHfTaO6 ceramic powder is prepared by ball milling, uniform mixing, dry pressing and roasting. The preparation method is simple in process, low in equipment requirement and short in preparation period, the AlHfTaO6 ceramic powder which is single in phase, high in dispersion and fine and uniform in particle size can be prepared by controlling high-temperature roasting process conditions, and the AlHfTaO6 ceramic powder can be used for preparing high-temperature-resistant thermal protection environmental barrier coatings for aero-engines and rocket engine hot end components. In addition, raw materials required by the method are wide in source and low in cost, and the method can be popularized to industrial production.
