The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) dissolving acrylic acid in water to obtain a component A; (2) mixing vitamin C and mercaptoacetic acid, and dissolving in water to obtain a component B; and (3) heating, stirring and dissolving the organic silicon modified polyurethane side chain macromonomer and polyethylene glycol, adding hydrogen peroxide, stirring, dropwise adding the component B, carrying out a heating reaction, additionally dropwise adding the component A, carrying out a heat preservation reaction after dropwise adding, adding an alkaline solution, and stirring to adjust the pH value to obtain the high-shrinkage polycarboxylic acid. The high-shrinkage polycarboxylic acid is high in adsorbability, good in adaptability to Portland cement and small in shrinkage. The preparation method can be carried out at normal temperature, and is simple in process, low in cost and suitable for industrial production.
