In one embodiment, a ladder comprises: a first assembly having a ladder frame and steps; the second assembly is provided with a ladder frame and stairs; and one or more hinges coupling the first component and the second component together such that the first component and the second component can be positioned relative to each other in at least one position or state and at least one second position or state. The ladder is adjustable by moving the pin from a locked state in which the pin is located in the recess or slot of the hinge and prevents rotation of the hinge to an unlocked state in which the pin is removed from the recess or slot. A plurality of joints can simultaneously transition between locked and unlocked states by moving the pin using a releaser, and a spring can bias the pin to the locked state.
