The invention provides a ceramic whitening agent which is composed of 7.38%-16.66% of SiO2, 0.98%-2.10% of Al2O3, 12.15%-24.96% of (Na2O + K2O), 7.9%-18.31% of CaO, 0.80%-2.36% of MgO, 41.44%-66.87% of TiO2 and 0.81%-1.69% of P2O5. The ceramic whitening agent is prepared by the following steps: crushing 15-25 parts of phosphogypsum, 35-60 parts of rutile, 2-5 parts of talc, 2-5 parts of sodium oxalate, 10-12 parts of sodium carbonate and 1-3 parts of fluorite by a dry method, sieving, feeding into a tunnel kiln, calcining at 1000-1100 DEG C for 7-9 hours, and grinding. The ardealite-free ceramic whitening agent can use ardealite instead of zircon sand on the premise that a good ceramic whitening effect can be guaranteed, so that the raw material cost is reduced, and meanwhile, the ardealite is consumed to reduce the damage to the environment.
