The invention relates to an automatic collecting and sorting device for canal garbage. The automatic collecting and sorting device comprises an impeller, a garbage collecting system, a sorting system and a main transmission system. The main transmission system comprises a first transmission mechanism, a middle transmission mechanism and a second transmission mechanism, and an impeller shaft of the impeller is connected with the middle transmission mechanism through the first transmission mechanism and drives a first conveying belt of the sorting system through the middle transmission mechanism. The second transmission mechanism is connected with the middle transmission mechanism and provides power for a second conveying belt of the garbage collecting system. Due to the fact that water flow in the water channel has kinetic energy and drives the impeller to rotate to provide power for the whole device, the power passes through the main transmission system, the garbage collecting system collects floating garbage in the water channel and conveys the floating garbage to the sorting system, the sorting system classifies the garbage, and then the garbage is conveyed to the water channel. The floating garbage intercepting and sorting work is achieved, the labor cost is reduced, and energy conservation and environment protection are achieved.
