The invention relates to a device and a method for accurately measuring the height and levelness of a foundation pit. The device comprises a water tank, a floating body, a communicating pipe, a stabilizing rod, a stabilizing seat, a fixed pulley, a traction rope and a laser range finder, two same water tanks are arranged on the two sides of a foundation pit, water receiving pipes are arranged at the bottoms of the water tanks, the water receiving pipes on the two sides are communicated through a communicating pipe to form a communicating vessel, flat holes are formed in the different side walls of the water tanks, stabilizing rods in one-to-one correspondence with the flat holes are arranged on the outer side of the floating body, and each stabilizing seat comprises a ball seat, a clamping seat and a telescopic rod. A ball seat is arranged on the upper portion of the telescopic rod, a clamping seat is arranged on the upper portion of the ball seat, the clamping seat can be clamped to the bottom of the stabilizing rod in a matched mode, and a jackscrew is arranged on the side face of the ball seat. A probe of the laser range finder is arranged downwards, and the laser range finder is mounted on the traction rope through a pulley; according to the invention, a standard horizontal plane is formed by using the communicating vessels, so that the levelness can be quickly measured, and meanwhile, a reference is provided for height measurement.
