A floating type wave damping device comprises: a floating body (100); a wave-receiving plate (200) arranged obliquely downward at an angle with respect to a horizontal plane wherein a first end (202) of the wave-receiving plate (200) is attached to the front portion (102) of the floating body (100) and a second end (204) of the wave-receiving plate (200) is submerged below the water surface; and a float (300) coupled and fastened to the rear portion (104) of the floating body (100) via a fastening cord (310) by tethering the fastening cord (310) via a portion of the wave receiving plate (200), where the float (300) is disposed in front of the floating body (100).
