The invention discloses a construction method of an assembly type roof decoration layer, which comprises the following steps: typesetting according to the requirements of a design drawing of the roof decoration layer so as to formulate the size of each prefabricated roof decoration layer module, and dividing the roof decoration layer in the design drawing into parts with the same size according to the size requirement; a mold is manufactured, the mold comprises a main body with an opening in the top and a cover body covering the opening in the top of the main body, a protruding strip extending towards the main body is arranged on the side, facing the main body, of the cover body, and the protruding strip is attached to the inner side face of the main body; producing a prefabricated roof decoration layer module by using a mold to form a roof decoration layer module with a notch in the side edge of the top; curing and demolding; the overall integrity of the roof decoration layer module is inspected; the roof decoration layer modules are spliced into a roof decoration layer, and the notches between every two adjacent roof decoration layer modules are spliced to form a groove; and sealing the formed groove. The construction method can improve the construction efficiency, reduce the construction intensity and guarantee the construction quality.
