The invention discloses an automatic binding recognition device and method for intersection points of a reinforcing mesh surface, and relates to the technical field of automatic building construction, and the device is characterized in that a moving assembly is mounted on a fixed platform or a moving platform; the recognition module is installed on the moving assembly and used for obtaining a target reinforcing mesh surface image and a corresponding depth image, and then the depth image is used for processing the target reinforcing mesh surface image to obtain a target upper reinforcing mesh surface image; and finally, processing the target upper-layer reinforcing mesh surface image by using the reinforcing mesh surface intersection point identification model to obtain pixel coordinates of target reinforcing mesh surface intersection points. According to the method, the problems of low accuracy, real-time performance and adaptability of reinforcing steel bar intersection point recognition in the existing reinforcing steel bar bundling automatic construction process are solved.
