The invention belongs to the technical field of road quality control, and particularly relates to a construction method for improving the quality of a large-particle-size gravel subbase layer, which comprises the following steps: controlling the proportion of large-particle-size and fine aggregate to be large and the proportion of middle aggregate to be small; two-stage stirring is performed by adopting double stirring cylinders, the first-stage stirring cylinder stirs and mixes dry materials and water, and a discharging port is connected with a feeding port of the second-stage finished product stirring cylinder through a semi-finished product conveying belt; transporting the stirred and mixed base material from the mixing station to a construction site, and covering the base material with a covering in the transportation process; a paver is adopted for paving construction, and the paving speed and thickness of the paver are controlled in the paving process; rolling the flattened base material by adopting a process of primary pressing, re-pressing and final pressing, and carrying out quality control detection on a finished product after rolling; compared with the prior art, the method has the advantages that raw materials are controlled with higher requirements, more refined control is made technically, and the construction process is innovated, so that the quality of the graded broken stone subbase is remarkably improved on the whole.
