The invention discloses a hydrotherapy pool cover lifter and a hydrotherapy pool comprising a disclosed hydrotherapy pool cover. The hydrotherapy pool cover lifter may include a first arm pivotably attached to a first portion of the articulated hydrotherapy pool cover, and a second arm pivotably attached to a second portion of the articulated hydrotherapy pool cover. The first and second arms may be configured such that the first arm causes the first and second portions of the hydrotherapy pool cover to fold together. The invention discloses an actuator and a controller, and also discloses a mechanical connecting rod between the actuator and a first arm. The mechanical link may be an over-rotating mechanical link.
