The invention discloses a shell and a preparation method thereof. Wherein the shell comprises a ceramic base body and a plastic material, nanoscale or micron-sized holes are formed in the surface of the ceramic base body, the plastic material is formed on the surface of the ceramic base body in an injection molding mode, and the plastic material is embedded into the holes; wherein the ceramic matrix comprises the following components in percentage by mass: 80-92% of yttria-stabilized zirconia, 0.5-7% of a toughening agent, 2-20% of a coloring agent and the balance of a dispersing agent. The shell provided by the invention can be widely applied to high-end intelligent wearable equipment, a high-toughness ceramic matrix with multiple color effects can be prepared by adding the coloring agent and the toughening agent into the components of the ceramic matrix, and then the high-toughness ceramic matrix is compounded with a plastic material, so that the strength of the shell can be enhanced, and the impact resistance of the shell is enhanced.
