The chain type slope protection structure comprises a supporting layer, a soil layer and a building block layer, the building block layer comprises a plurality of slope protection building blocks, first through holes are formed in the centers of the upper end faces and the lower end faces of the slope protection building blocks in a penetrating mode, and through grooves are formed in the centers of the side faces of the slope protection building blocks in a penetrating mode; at least one second through hole is communicated between each through groove and the first through hole, and each second through hole is perpendicular to the through groove and the first through hole; each side face of the slope protection building block is provided with a spring bolt structure and a lock hole structure, the spring bolt structures and the lock hole structures are arranged on the two sides of the through groove correspondingly, the spring bolt structures and the lock hole structures on the two adjacent side faces of the slope protection building block are alternately arranged, and the spring bolt structures and the lock hole structures are matched with each other to form an interlocking structure. When the lock tongue structures and the lock hole structures on the two adjacent side faces of the slope protection building block are sequentially connected in a locked mode, the two opposite through grooves are spliced to form a third through hole, and the third through hole is cylindrical. The stability of the slope protection structure is improved.
