The invention provides a connecting joint structure of a steel pipe column and a steel cover beam and an assembling method of the connecting joint structure. The connecting joint structure comprises the steel pipe column, a plurality of connecting ribs, a connecting pipe and the steel cover beam. The connecting ribs are evenly arranged on the outer side wall of the steel pipe column, the top ends of the connecting ribs are flush with the top end of the steel pipe column, and the connecting ribs are fixedly connected with the bottom of the steel cover beam. The inner side wall of the lower portion of the connecting pipe is fixed to the outer end faces of the connecting ribs, and the upper portion of the connecting pipe is inserted into the bottom of the steel cover beam and fixedly connected with the steel cover beam. The problem that the large steel pipe column is unfavorable in stress can be solved, the construction difficulty of connection between the large steel pipe column and the steel cover beam can be further reduced, and the connection quality of the joint is improved.
