Provided is a polyvinyl acetal resin which, when dissolved in an organic solvent, has little fine undissolved matter, in particular, can improve productivity when used as a binder for a ceramic green sheet, can obtain a ceramic green sheet having excellent toughness, and can produce a laminated ceramic capacitor having excellent reliability. The present invention relates to a polyvinyl acetal resin in which the wavenumber A (cm-1) of a peak in the wavenumber range of 3100-3700 cm-1 and the amount of hydroxyl groups (mol%) satisfy the relationships of formulae (1) and (2) in an IR absorption spectrum measured by an infrared spectrophotometer. [(3470-A)/hydroxyl group amount] < = 5.5 (1) (3470-A) < = 185 (2) A: the wavenumber on the lower wavenumber side than 3470 cm <-1 > among wavenumbers satisfying the transmittance a (%) of [100-(100-X)/2], where X (%) is the minimum transmittance of a peak in the wavenumber range of 3100-3700 cm <-1 >.
本发明提供一种聚乙烯醇缩醛树脂,其在溶解于有机溶剂的情况下微细的未溶解物少,特别是在用作陶瓷生片用的粘结剂时能够使生产率提升,另外能够得到强韧性优异的陶瓷生片,可制作可靠性优异的层叠陶瓷电容器。本发明涉及一种聚乙烯醇缩醛树脂,其在利用红外分光光度计所测定的IR吸收光谱中,波数3100~3700cm‑1的范围内的峰的波数A(cm‑1)、以及羟基量(摩尔%)满足下述式(1)及(2)的关系。[(3470一A)/羟基量]≤5.5(1)(3470‑A)≤185(2)A:当将波数3100~3700cm‑1的范围内的峰的最小透射率设为X(%)时,表示满足[100‑(100‑X)/2]的透射率a(%)的波数当中的、比3470cm‑1更低波数侧的波数。
