The step type connecting structure comprises an upper structure water stop section and a lower underpinning force transmission section, and a step type conversion bearing platform with the small upper portion and the large lower portion is formed; the construction water stop section is a newly-built foundation slab pre-construction area and is provided with a water stop plate. The underpinning force transmission section is arranged below a newly-built foundation slab, the upper portion of the underpinning force transmission section is sequentially connected with the construction water stop section and a newly-built structure column, and the lower portion of the underpinning force transmission section and an underpinning pile column form a conversion node. After the stress conversion of the column section of the underpinning pile column and the newly-built structural column is completed, the column section of the underpinning pile column is chiseled away, the main reinforcement of the underpinning pile column in the range of the newly-built foundation bottom plate is reserved, and the pile section of the underpinning pile column serves as an engineering pile in the normal use stage.
