The invention provides a step type connecting structure of an underpinning pile column and a newly-built foundation slab and a construction method of the step type connecting structure. The step type connecting structure comprises an upper structure water stop section and a lower underpinning force transmission section, and a step type conversion bearing platform with the small upper portion and the large lower portion is formed; the construction water stop section is a newly-built foundation slab pre-construction area and is provided with a water stop plate. The underpinning force transmission section is arranged below a newly-built foundation slab, the upper portion of the underpinning force transmission section is sequentially connected with the construction water stop section and a newly-built structure column, and the lower portion of the underpinning force transmission section and an underpinning pile column form a conversion node. After the stress conversion of the column section of the underpinning pile column and the newly-built structural column is completed, the column section of the underpinning pile column is chiseled away, the main reinforcement of the underpinning pile column in the range of the newly-built foundation bottom plate is reserved, and the pile section of the underpinning pile column serves as an engineering pile in the normal use stage. The problem that an existing pile column structure and foundation bottom plate connecting joint is poor in stress performance and waterproof performance is solved.
