A water collection unit comprising: a chamber; and a container supported for rotation in the chamber. The container has a base and a side wall extending from the base to an opening. The base is fluid impermeable and a portion of the sidewall is fluid permeable. The base and majority of the side wall of the container are located in a first inflation space within the chamber, and the opening is open to a second inflation space within the chamber. The unit may have a plurality of containers located within the chamber. The water collection system comprises the water collection unit and a regenerative countercurrent heat exchanger.
