The invention relates to bridge construction, in particular to a construction method of a retractable steel trestle guardrail device. Comprising the following steps that A, a steel trestle is constructed; step B, guardrail manufacturing; c, end bases and a middle base are manufactured; d, end bases and a middle base are installed; e, the end vertical rod of the guardrail is inserted into one inserting groove of the end base, and the middle vertical rod is inserted into the middle base; f, a clamping groove is formed in the steel bridge deck; g, the guardrail is laid flat, the buckles are placed in the clamping grooves in the steel bridge deck, then the whole guardrail is moved outwards, the buckles and the clamping grooves are hooked and clamped firmly, and the end vertical rods are in threaded connection with the tongue plates; and H, the water level falls back, and the guardrails on the two sides are recovered. The guardrail and the steel trestle are of an assembly type structure, are convenient to assemble and disassemble and can be repeatedly used; when water rises in the flood season, only the guardrail needs to be put down and fixed to the steel bridge deck through the buckles, the guardrail is prevented from being detached, carried back and forth and damaged, cost is reduced, and work efficiency is improved.
