The invention relates to the field of thermal insulation materials, in particular to a novel thermal insulation material for a fabricated building and a preparation method of the novel thermal insulation material. The thermal insulation material is prepared from the following raw materials: 30-35 parts of cement, 10-20 parts of fly ash, 0.1-0.2 part of hydrated calcium silicate, 5-10 parts of a silicone acrylic emulsion, 5-10 parts of an epoxy resin emulsion, 2-5 parts of polypropylene fibers, 2-5 parts of epoxy modified nano cellulose, 1-2 parts of an additive, 0.5-1 part of a montmorillonite-based pore forming agent, 0.5-1 part of a foaming agent and a proper amount of water. The heat conductivity coefficient is low, and excellent heat preservation and waterproof performance is achieved.
