The invention discloses a method for installing an offshore platform in a shallow water area, which comprises the following steps of: carrying the offshore platform to a specified installation sea area by selecting a bottom-supported self-elevating engineering ship and a transportation barge, and hoisting the offshore platform by modules or integrally by using a crane in a bottom-supported and pile-inserted manner. Large floating crane equipment with expensive rent and resource shortage is not needed, the workload of deep excavation and dredging in a channel and an operation area can be avoided or reduced, the construction operation cost is remarkably reduced, and the operation period is remarkably shortened; and on the other hand, the crane has high wind wave resistance, the working requirement of the crane is met to the maximum extent, the lifting and mounting precision is guaranteed, the influence of weather and sea conditions on mounting work can be reduced, the working efficiency can be improved, and meanwhile the safety performance in the mounting work process can be greatly improved.
