The invention discloses a system and method for improving the overall rigidity of a hollow slab girder bridge, the hollow slab girder bridge comprises a plurality of hollow slab girders arranged side by side and a bridge deck pavement arranged on the surfaces of the hollow slab girders, hinge joints are arranged among the hollow slab girders, and the system comprises a profile steel grid, a plurality of anchoring blocks and a plurality of prestress connectors; the profile steel grid comprises cross beams and longitudinal beams which are fixedly connected transversely and longitudinally, and the profile steel grid is fixed on the lower surface of the hollow slab beam; the anchoring blocks are fixed between the hollow slab beams and located on the upper portions of the hinge joints. The prestress connector is arranged between the profile steel grid and the anchoring block, and the two ends of the prestress connector are fixedly connected with the profile steel grid and the anchoring block respectively.
