The invention discloses a steel structure antique attic construction method which comprises the following steps: step 1, erecting scaffolds around the periphery of an antique attic layer by layer, and mounting steel structure cornices layer by layer by taking each layer of scaffolds as a platform along with the erection of each layer of scaffolds; 2, after the uppermost layer of steel structure cornice is installed, a top-chiseled roof is constructed from top to bottom through a reverse construction method, then steel structure cornice glazed tile roof construction and steel structure cornice lower curtain wall installation construction are conducted layer by layer, and after each layer of steel structure cornice glazed tile roof and steel structure cornice lower curtain wall construction are completed, the top-chiseled roof and the top-chiseled roof are constructed; and the scaffolds are dismantled layer by layer from top to bottom. According to the construction method, the sequential construction method and the reverse construction method are combined, and the situation that structural construction is affected due to collision between the rod pieces of the scaffold and the steel structure cornice is avoided.
