The invention discloses high-strength lightweight foam soil and a preparation method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of building materials, the high-strength lightweight foam soil comprises the following raw materials by mass: 300-500 parts of industrial waste residue, 27.05-36.25 parts of a composite foaming agent and 150-250 parts of cement; the preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing industrial waste residues and cement, and grinding into particles with the particle size of less than 40 microns to obtain a composite material; mixing and stirring the composite material and water to obtain composite slurry; diluting the composite foaming agent with water, and adding into a foaming machine to prepare a foam component; and mixing the composite slurry and a foam component to obtain the light foam soil. The industrial waste residues are used as raw materials, the cost is saved, the strength of the foam soil is improved, in addition, the adopted composite foaming agent has multiple effects, other additives do not need to be additionally added in the production process, and the production technology is effectively simplified.
