The invention discloses a joint connecting device for a traveling track of a traveling crane and a connecting method of the joint connecting device. The connector connecting device comprises a connecting plate and a fastener, the fastener is used for fixing the connecting plate to a track beam, a horizontal clamping groove is formed in the surface, back on to the track beam, of the connecting plate, and the horizontal clamping groove is used for being connected with the bottoms of two adjacent track sections in a clamped mode. The horizontal clamping groove extends in the length direction parallel to the track and penetrates through the connecting plate. The horizontal clamping grooves are formed in the connecting plates, the joints of the two adjacent sections of rails are clamped in the horizontal clamping grooves, the two adjacent sections of rails can be kept on the same straight line, dislocation and deviation are prevented, meanwhile, the connecting plates are locked on the rail beam through the fasteners, and the situation that the fasteners are loosened is reduced.
