The invention discloses a titanium oxide fiber doped silica aerogel thermal insulation material and a preparation method thereof. Titanate containing alkali metal is prepared into titanium oxide nanosheets through a liquid phase stripping method, the titanium oxide nanosheets are spun into fibers through a wet spinning method after being prepared into dispersion liquid, then wet gel is prepared from a silicon precursor, silane and an alcohol substance through a sol-gel method, the wet gel is compounded with the titanium oxide fibers, and finally the aerogel is obtained after supercritical drying. Titanium oxide fibers are doped into silica aerogel, the network structure of the aerogel is reinforced, the mechanical strength of the silica aerogel material is improved, and meanwhile it is guaranteed that the material has excellent heat insulation performance. The required raw materials are low in price, the preparation process is simple and efficient, and the aerogel is stable in heat insulation performance and can meet the use requirements in different scenes.
